I have been in radio since the inception of Dakota Broadcasting but have been around it for 25+ years thru my husband Neil. I worked for 16 years in a Chiropractic Office in Yankton wearing many hats and loved it.
I enjoy boating, golfing, reading, but most important to me is spending as much time with my family as possible. Derek Ricci CRMC, CDMC
In 1992, a wide-eyed kid from Massachusetts had just finished an internship at 92-Pro FM in Providence Rhode Island, as a Promotions and Marketing intern. In 1996 he entered the world of Travel. He was helping smaller travel agencies market themselves. In 2000 he joined Royal Caribbean & Celebrity Cruise lines as District Sales Manager, adding product/sales training and management of co-op advertising. He also aided agencies in making the most out of the emerging internet.
At a seminar he was hosting on the cruise ship, one of the attendants said… “you should do this for other businesses, not just agencies”, and on month later he decided he would. In October 2003 he started helping other clients get the most out of their business, by appling the same lessons he had developed for travel agencies to small businesses outside the travel industry. Three years after his move to South Dakota, he is helping small and large size businesses in South Dakota get the most out of their marketing. Are you getting the most of your marketing?

Mike Johnson
I was born in Aberdeen and grew up in Conde, Turton and Doland. I was drawn to the microphone at an early age, performing my first paid appearance as a ventriloquist at age eight. I knew early on that my career path was somewhere in the arts, I played the drums and was active in high school plays and really enjoyed that but in the end radio won out. I began my first radio job on July 1st, 1989, later moving to Aberdeen where I've been a fixture on local radio since 1992.
I've been on every day-part of pretty much every Aberdeen radio station at one time or another. I'm very proud of the work I've done on all of them

Ward Hilger
Let's face it... I'm the only redneck in this area they could find that loved country music and didn't have a fear of public speaking.
I grew up in Eastern Montana to a can-chasing nanny slammer and a good old boy. I graduated from high school in 2003 and pursued a degree in music education before attending Western Academy Broadcasting College in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan-Canada. After graduating I got my first gig as an afternoon host on a country station in North Dakota. I would quickly be promoted to morning shows located all-over Montana and Oregon. I would take a break from radio to get the "young bug" out of me, and I worked as an entertainment host for Carnival Cruise Lines. I returned to radio in California and then back to Montana before joining Dakota 105.5!!!
JOIN ME every weekday for the Weekday Wakeup, 6a-10a, on the Dakota's BEST Country, Dakota 105.5!!!

Jeff Larsen
Jeff Larsen is a country lovin' radio veteran, having spent the better part of his life (25 years now) entertaining on the air. He now lives by the standard "Time spent enjoying nature is not deducted from your allotted time on Earth". So when he's not playing the
country music you love, he spends as much time hunting and fishing as he
can. (Possibly because he fears death.) Family time with his 2 sons, (Dakota and
Hunter) dogs (Vizsla's), and Kat are important to Jeff as well (Kat is short
for wife Kathy...not a cat. To avoid confusion at home, Jeff doesn't have a cat.).
You can email your E-Quests to Jeff anytime at jeff@dakotabroadcasting.com

Mike Ulrich - CDMC
Mike reigns from Hoven, South Dakota. Small town with a big church known as the Cathedral of the Prairie. He graduated as a Greyhound in 2001 and headed off to Dakota State University to learn all about those machines we love to hate (computers). But after several years decided he didn't want to be couped up in a cubicle all day, and ventured off to be a garbage man instead. After a winter of riding behind a big steel truck in -30 below temps, Mike looked for a change of pace. He found Brown College in Minneapolis and decided to give it a try and since then has loved being behind the Mic. He has several years broadcasting experience doing play by play and on-air in Watertown, SD and is proud to be in Aberdeen and at Dakota Broadcasting.

Andy Ames
Andy was born under the bright lights in Minneapolis, MN. He spent most nights as a child staying up just a little later every night in order to hear the local radio DJ do his last cut in…Thus a future DJ was born. By the time Andy was 16 his father bought a local hardware store in the fine city of Aberdeen, SD. He spent his final years of high school here, but once graduation came he headed right back to the noise and commotion of Minneapolis.
The Minneapolis/St. Paul area was his home for several years where he worked for a produce company and went to Brown College for Radio Broadcasting. Since graduating from Brown, Andy has lived in Northern Minnesota (De La Hunt Broadcasting), outside of Des Moines, Iowa (Marshalltown Broadcasting/KIX101.1), and on Revillagigedo Island in Ketchikan, Alaska (Alaska Broadcast Communications / KTKN & KGTW). Alaska was fun, but his Midwestern roots kept calling him back…His next stop was to return to Aberdeen 10 years later to work for Dakota 105.5
Join Andy Ames Monday – Friday 4pm – 6pm on Dakota 105.5!

Megan was born and raised in Onaka, SD where she graduated from Cresbard High School. She went on to The University Of South Dakota where she graduated with a major in Contemporary Media and Journalism with a minor in photography. After her time spent in Vermillion she decided to pack her car and head to Los Angeles to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise. She finished a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design and worked with a Talent Agency in Beverly Hills. After realizing Hollywood wasn’t real life she decided home was where her heart was. After 6 years in Sioux Falls she knew she loved advertising but decided it still wasn’t close enough. Dakota Broadcasting in Aberdeen had an opening and Megan thought she’d make the transition from print to radio. She made a good move. She’s happy to be home and looks forward to helping area business’ with their advertising/marketing needs. If Megan is not working on an advertising campaign you can find her at the Lake, boating, skiing, and enjoying the sun.
