Aberdeen, SD - English as a Second Language (ESL) classes will now be offered by Cornerstones Career Learning Center (CCLC).  Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Nov 29th.  Aberdeen has a need to fill 1000 jobs and it is anticipated that some of these positions will by people who do not speak english as their primary language.  This program is funded by the Adult Education and Literacy Grant through the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation and is offered free to students.

Participants will learn basic conversational and literacy skill in a variety of areas.  The topics include community living, employment skills, consumer economics, and cultural understandings.  In addition to a regular ESL instructor participants will have opportunities to meet and interact with representatives from Aberdeen area groups and organizations.
