Aberdeen, SD - Jolynn Zeller, coordinator of Avera St. Luke’s Infection Prevention and Control program, has been presented with the 2011 Avera Nursing Excellence Award for Clinical Quality Initiatives, Publication and Research.
The award was presented at the Avera Nursing Excellence gathering held recently in Sioux Falls. Zeller was recognized for her passion in “spreading the news” about infection prevention through publishing articles and participating in research. Zeller also serves on the national board of directors for the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC). She was recently picked as the APIC Board of Directors liaison to the Certification Board for Infection Prevention and Control (CBIC) and CHICA (Canadian APIC) meeting held in Toronto.
Zeller, a registered nurse certified in infection control, has worked in health care quality since 1978. She has specializedin the field of infection prevention and health quality since the two Aberdeen hospitals consolidated in 1988.
