Aberdeen, SD - The Aberdeen Downtown Association will be hosting "Christmas on Main: A Downtown Holiday Celebration" on Friday, Dec 2nd. The event starts with a Snowball Drop at 6:15 p.m. on the 100 block of Main which will take place near the front of the Ward Plaza. Firemen will drop ping pong snowballs from a firetruck over the crowd. The ping pong balls are marked with items, amounts, or discount offers that are redeemable at various retailers in downtown Aberdeen.
A Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Ward Hotel. Following the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, the 2011 Parade of Lights will take place. Each year, thousands of spectators line the streets of downtown Main Street and South 1st Street to watch floats travel through the streets of downtown Aberdeen.
