Brown County, SD -  A Burn ban remains in effect for Brown County until noon on Tuesday, Jan 3rd. The Brown County Emergency Management Department enacted the ban which prohibits or restricts all open burning within Brown County due to very dry conditions and lack of snow cover. The Brown County Commission will meet this morning during their regular commission meeting to discuss a removal or extension of the burn ban.
