HERREID, S.D. – A Herreid man died Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on a Campbell County road about six miles east of Herreid.
 
Randall Lee Rueb, 53, was driving northbound on 312^th Avenue in a 1990 Chevrolet CC109 that failed to stop at the intersection with 108^th Street. The vehicle continued through the intersection into the path of a westbound 2011 Ford F-150 driven by Richard Beitelspacher, 67, of Bowdle, S.D. Both vehicles caught fire after the crash.
 
Rueb was dead at the scene. Beitelspacher was taken to a Mobridge hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. It is unknown at this time if the drivers were wearing seatbelts.
 
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Campell County Sheriff’s Office, Campbell County Ambulance, Herreid Fire Department and Walworth County coroner assisted.
